Top 5 Smart Watches Of 2014
1. PEBBLE SMART WATCH *BEST SMART WATCH OF 2014*
The Pebble Smart watch is unanimously the crowd favorite. It set a new record for crowd source funding on Kick starter while still in the concept phase and its popularity has not since waned. The Pebble’s creators had the vision, had the experience, and most importantly, effectively marketed the hell out of this device even before the first unit shipped. In fact, we would dare to say that the Pebble single-highhandedly ignited the smart watch market frenzy that is just beginning to really surge.
We feel that, although the Pebble Smart watch is your best choice right now, it is still an incomplete product. We base this statement largely upon the complete lack of useful software. And, while we are sure that such software will be forthcoming, it is not available yet. However, the strength of this watch lies in its technical specs, in its ability to be upgraded through firmware and completed through software, and in the fact that its sheer popularity ensures that useful and productive apps will be available shortly.
UPDATE: Pebble Technology started shipping the Pebble Steel on January 28, 2014. The new smart watch has basically the same internals as the original Pebble, adding a more sophisticated steel case and band and an additional leather strap. We are putting the new Pebble Steel through its paces right now and will be posting a review shortly …

2. MARTIAN SMART WATCH
The Martian Smart watch is the most elegant of the currently available smart watches. Whereas the Pebble is designed as a stand alone smart device that functions in tandem with the user’s smartphone, the Martian is designed to be used simply as an extension of the smartphone. Nonetheless, the Martian Smart watch offers hands-free voice commands, messages and alerts display, and smartphone camera control. These features, combined with sophisticated styling, makes the Martian Smart watch a top choice for someone not looking to carry a full-fledged computer around on their wrist.

3. I’M WATCH SMART WATCH
The i’m Watch is by far the best modern looking smart waach available today … not surprising considering it is Italian made. It has great looks, great specs, and just feels solid. The problem with this smart watch, like most of the contenders, is that the firmware and software just feel unfinished and incomplete. However, this shortcoming can be easily remedied should the much need updates be released. If i’m Watch can get the firmware and software right, we could see this beautiful piece of gear easily rising to the number one spot on our top 5 list … it is just that pretty.

4. SONY SMART WATCH 2 SW2
The most recent addition to our Top 5 smart watch list is the Sony Smart watch 2, a just released upgrade from Sony’s first crack at the emerging smart watch market. Although, before it was released, we felt that it was simply a rehash of the original Sony Smart watch 1, now that it has arrived it has turned out to be much more. Not evolutionary, but a true contender given the current state of smart watch technology. If this watch was not limited solely to Android phones, and included iOS and the iPhone into its fold, it would be ranked higher on our list of best smart watches. Be sure to read our upcoming in-depth review of the Sony Smart watch 2.

5. CONNECT DEVICE COOKOO SMART WATCH
Rounding out our favorite smart watches list is the Cookoo Watch. It is simple, unpretentious, and has few features. However, it is well designed, well constructed, and intended, like the Martian Passport, to function as an extension of the wearer’s smartphone, not a replacement of it. And, like our other picks, its software is incomplete with the feel of a beta. Nonetheless, once this issue is resolved, this sporty casual entry will definitely have a place in the emerging smart watch market, thus warranting inclusion onto the list of our top 5 favorite smart watches.

Solve Any Problem Using 10 Step Process
People who throw themselves at their problems often become frantic and confused. They take a haphazard approach to thinking, and then they are amazed when they find themselves floundering and making no progress.
Everyone talks about problem solving, but how do you do that?
Here is a simple 10 step process to apply problem solving in a way anyone can apply. Give them away – print them out – put them on your desk. Use them.
1.Investigate and gather information – to see if it is really even a problem.
Instead of using the word problem, use the word situation, or call it a challenge or an opportunity. The more positive your language is, the more confident and optimistic you will be when approaching any difficulty. The more creative and insightful you will be in identifying creative solutions and breakthrough ideas
2.Define problem – write it down on paper (when we do this we get a different perspective) determine the cause if possible.
What exactly is the challenge you are facing? What is causing you the stress and anxiety? What is causing you to worry? Why are you unhappy? Write it out clearly in detail.
3.Brainstorm as many possible solutions you can think of, use other people, ask them – quantity is key, not quality – examples of how we stop this.
Ask, “What else is the problem?” Don’t be satisfied with a superficial answer. Look for the root cause of the problem rather than get sidetracked by the symptom. Approach the problem from several different directions.
4. Apply 80/20 rule to step 3 the ideas– at this point in time find which ideas might work and produce the biggest results with the lease amount of effort.
What exaclty must the solution accomplish? What ingredients must the solution contain? What would your ideal solution to this problem look like? Define the parameters clearly.
5.Pick one, decision using the 80/20 rule
Pick the best solution by comparing your various possible solutions against your problem, on the one hand, and your ideal solution, on the other. What is the best thing to do at this time under the circumstances?
6. Act on step 5 – do not let time elaps – key characteristic of successful people is they are decisive. Successful people have a clear goal, a lifetime goal, of where they want to go. Because of the clear picture of where they want to go, they know if their decision fits in or not. Unsuccessful people don’t know if their decision fits into their picture because they don’t have one. They don’t have goals
7. Follow up – inspect – we get what we inspect, not what we expect
Set measures on your decision. How will you know that you are making progress? How will you measure success? How will you compare the success of this solution against the success of another solution?
8. Evaluate your progress to date
Accept complete responsibility for implementing the decision. Many of the most creative ideas never materialize because no one is specifically assigned the responsibility of carrying out the decision.
9. Do 1-8 for parts of the problem not resolved or if problem is not resolved.
A decision without a deadline is a meaningless discussion. If it is a major decision and will take some time to implement, set a series of short-term deadlines and a schedule for reporting.
10. Document what you did – so you do not have to do this again.
Get busy. Get going. Develop a sense of urgency. The faster you move in the direction of your clearly defined goals, the more creative you will be. The more energy you will have. The more you will learn. And the faster you will develop your capacity to achieve even more in the future.
